MUSTIOLA OF CLUSIUM

“Mustiola was a noble Christian woman living in Clusium (today: Chiusi ,Tuscany, Italy). When the deacon Irenaeus of Sutri, who had buried Christian martyrs and had been arrested, was sent to Clusium and cruelly mistreated at the command of prefect Turcius, Mustiola tried to confort him. Her interference with Irenaeus' punishment led to her own arrest. Irenaeus was slain before Mustiola’s eyes. She was suspended and beaten to death with a club.”

AGATHA OF CATANIA CRUELLY WHIPPED

"Young, beautiful and rich, Agatha lived a life consecrated to God. When Decius announced the edicts against Christians, the magistrate Quinctianus tried to profit by Agatha’s sanctity; he planned to blackmail her into sex in exchange for not charging her. Handed over to a brothel, she refused to accept customers. After rejecting Quinctianus’s advances, she was beaten, imprisoned, suspended andwhipped, tortured, her breasts were crushed and cut off. She told the judge, “Cruel man, have you forgotten your mother and the breast that nourished you, that you dare to mutilate me this way?” One version has it that Saint Peter healed her. Finally she was rolled on live coals; when she was near death, an earthquake stuck. In the destruction that followed, a friend of the magistrate was crushed, and the magistrate fled. Agatha thanked God for an end to her pain, and died."

REBEL SLAVE EFTHALIA IMPALED IN THE ARENA

Romans inherited the institution of slavery from the Greeks and the Phoenicians. As the Roman Republic expanded outward, entire populations were enslaved, thus creating an ample supply to work in Rome's farms and households. Greeks, Berbers, Germans, Britons, Thracians, Celts, Jews, Arabs, and many more were slaves used not only for labor, but also for amusement (e.g. gladiators and sex slaves).
In 56 a.D. Efthalia, a young sex slave of Greek origin, tried to kill her lord and to run away from the Italian peninsula. Unfortunately, her master was only slightly wounded.
Domitilla was captured four days later as she was trying to find a ship to reach Greece. She was carried to the arena and publicly impaled. She died after many hours of terrible sufferings.

Being whipped to death is certainly one of my fantasies. I would be brought into a public arena, stripped naked and tied spread eagle between two posts. Two lictors would start with my back side and then proceed to my chest, stomach and sexual areas. After a certain number of lashes or if passed out I would be returned toy cell and the process repeated next week, and the week after until I died. The public would return each week to see my body punished and make side bets about how much longer I would last.
 
BEATRIX OF ROME TORTURED AND STRANGLED

"During the persecution of Emperor Diocleatianus, in 302 or 303, the Christian brothers Simplicius and Faustinus were cruelly put to death because of their faith, and their corpses dumped into the Tiber. Their sister Beatrix managed to retrieve them and to provide an orderly burial. Then she went into hiding, for she had acted against the verdict of the pagan court, and for a while lived with a pious elder woman.
Some months later, however, she was discovered and arrested. Her trial was short, for the judge was a relative of her who a) wanted to minimize the public attention to the family and b) was going to inherit Beatrix' possessions. When Beatrix confessed that she was a Christian, she wasled to the arena, tortured and strangled."

Yes, those and others like them, just tied naked to a pillar, or stretched between stakes,
or dangling on a rope, seem to drag me instantly into the Arena,
sharing in their struggles and sufferings -
I like this one too, the brutal flagellator stands proudly while the crowd go wild,
cheering his handiwork, he's a celebrity,
I should have been flattered to be beaten to death by such a star!

Jedakk, you did non just make a good job when you created that lictor. You did a perfect job! Every single aspect of that figure is awesome. I hope you are not jealous if I used it to create some of my manipulations.

No problem! If you need him from different angles, let me know and I'll render him with his own alpha mask so you can pull him straight out of the background without any cutting. I think that original whipping pose started out as a throwing pose which I modified.
