Just to correct a popular misconception - when a witch was burnt at the stake it was considered to be an act of kindness and not a cruel punishment. The flames purified and cleansed her soul and enabled her to seek redemption in the afterlife.

I don't know what those two did to piss off Nicole Kidman, but that pitchfork suggests it's serious (as if being burned wasn't bad enough).

I read (somewhere) that in Britain at least (but not perhaps elsewhere in Europe) a woman convicted of witchcraft was usually hanged not burnt.
If she was also guilty of killing her husband, that was classed as "Petty Treason" and then she would be burned. Although in later times she would be strangled by a rope around her neck which would be pulled as the fire was lit. That failed in the execution of Margery Bedingfield.
Offences like "coining", making false money, was also Petty Treason so a female coiner might be burned to death.
Orginally a male coiner would be hanged, drawn and quartered, the usual male penalty for treason.
I read of one case in the later 18 thC, they had stopped the use of H, D & Q, so the man was just hanged. His female partner was burned at the stake. Seems very harsh, the judge must have had it in for women, perhaps he had a wicked stepmother (like myself).

for a persistant speeding female half an hour on a ducking
stool would make her think twice about speeding again.
and a bitch of a wife too, the husband compains To
The Court about nagging and always saying no and the
wife is ducked in public, first offence half an hour constant
ducking and the sentence is racked up every time she
re offends the ultimate sentence is she is displayed naked
on the ducking stool for thirty minutes to be ogled , mocked
photographed and videoed and then ducked in the icy cold
water. that would keep men away from the football

I Would go naked at a private one but the Med. Fairs
have children around they don`t want to see naked ladies
at their age ,let them be children.

the German idea is good too the girl hangs on to a rope
she is lifted up and positioned over a tank of cold water
