My name is actually Cynthia. I wrote a story about my becoming lesbian as therapy. It seemed to fit in here even though it isn't crux related. I have been into bondage and bdsm for some and time stumbled across this cool site quite by accident. It has broadened my outlook. Also have met some interesting online people with a meriad of like interests. I don't desire to be killed but crux and torture are stimulating fantacys.

Long time ago a friend of mine gave me a little book as present. It was a booklet with chansons by Jacques Prevert in a bilingual edition ( French and German). And there is a chanson about a jailer ( Kerkermeister in German) : "Chanson du geolier" (http://www.toutelapoesie.com/poemes/prevert/chanson_du_geolier.htm). When I found this site and came here I thought this could be an appropriate nick.

Beate oder Bea ist der Name, mit dem ich lebe und schreibe.
For the non German speakers: "Beate, or Bea, is the name with which I live and write."

Mine derives from my parochial school education and boring literalism. I’m a recovering Catholic who under Canon Law is classed as an apostate. One who has forsaken the Faith!

My avatar is this dude

who happens to be one of the few Roman emperors I wouldn’t mind hanging out with. ;)

Wow, I'm feeling so unimaginative.

I've used the same name for years in all kinds of sites (and I know of at least one other person using the same name, they're a graphic artist).

When I was a kid, there was a swimming hole that a giant willow tree fell into where I grew up. We all thought we were so secretive calling it "Willow's Fall" (like the parents wouldn't know) when we wanted to meet up.

When I got a little older it is where I got my first kiss from a boy I was interested in and it is also the first place that a boy put his hand inside my bra (by invitation).

So it somehow seemed appropriate.

windar is a Spanish company that makes towers for wind turbines.
It's also a Danish company that makes something to do with controlling wind turbines (I'm very green:cool:)
It's a place in Pakistan. It's in the desert, so not so green:(.
Jonathan Swift wrote at least two letters to the Rev. Mr. Windar. I hope they didn't get lost in the mail.

I am a "Teller of Tales" so none of those may have anything to do with why I chose that name. But why ruin a good story?

When I joined another site over a decade ago, I wanted a name that was villainous but not obviously so. There was a popular anime series at the time called "Inuyahsa". The villain of the series was named Naraku. He was quite a nasty fellow who killed without remorse and was virtually indestructible. But, despite having absorbed thousands of demons into himself, at heart he was still human.
https://inuyasha.fandom.com/wiki/Naraku
Other villains either had real human manes (Gendo Ikari), real English words (Vicious, Million Knives) or were too much to keep typing in each time I logged on (Orochimaru). Plus, the name is derived from "Naraka" , a name for the Buddhist version of Hell.

If I were joining today, I might choose a different name but, I'm happy with the name I have.

The most interesting figures are often those that stood against the tide, who bucked "the Great Arc of History."
Another of those was Cassiodorus ( https://www.britannica.com/biography/Cassiodorus) who wasn't great at anything, but is credited with some of the most important actions to preserve ancient knowledge and literature ever. Of course it is notable that he was briefly Praefectus Praetorio!

But above all, never, ever confuse him with Hop-Along Cassiodorus!:p

So many back stories.
I'm sure I've told mine several times now. When I was looking for a username to join the old Crux group many years ago (before it became a Yahoo group) I had a bookshelf above my PC, and on it was the novel "Consider Phlebas" by Iain M Banks. That title is inspired by a portion of the TS Eliot poem "The Wastland" which I am also fond of:

Phlebas the Phoenician, a fortnight dead,
Forgot the cry of gulls, and the deep sea swell
And the profit and loss.
A current under sea
Picked his bones in whispers. As he rose and fell
He passes the stages of his age and youth
Entering the whirlpool.
Gentile or Jew
O you who turn the wheel and look windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you.

"Look to Windward" is another Banks novel btw.

So now I am this forum's Primus Poenus :)

I am awake early because when I have an unusual or sexy dream, I get up and write down what I can remember before it fades away.. I picked my avatar because I just liked the look of the blonde angelic nymph. I came to the realization in a dream this morning. She represents the Cynthia the Inocent as she was in her youth. Of course the years have corrupted poor Cynthia, but she still clings to her inner child. Also I had a dream about Sofia Loren. In the dream, she played a prostitute, a recurring role she played so well. I am a fan of Italian movies with sub titles, because of their blatant sexual expression.. I dreamed a man paid her to initiate his 16 year old son into the world of sex with a mature woman. It is a customary rite of passage I suppose. Pushing it back a few centuries might make for an interesting fantacy story. I will work on it.
