I hate to do this, but the second one is by Georges Pichard and probably dates from the 1970s or 80s. I don't recognize the piece, but his style is unmistakable.

That's the one! There's a ton of great photos and graphic art from the period in it.

The same author wrote a similar book about the scene in 1920s Paris, which I haven't read yet.

He was a professor at a university in California (I think). I tried looking him up to email him and tell him how much I enjoyed his book, only to learn that he passed away a couple of years ago.
