Crime and Punishment in Modern Singapore

My irrelevant speculations on the upcoming events in Singapore. Assuming Rosie dies,Barb will be charged and held for murder and will be awaiting trial. The evidence looks very circumstantial ,so the authorities will try too talk her into a plea deal. Barb will refuse and want a trial. In the months ahead she will get into trouble for fighting with other prisoners and now we will have a prison flogging. This will be a filmed "pay for view event" and sold to a specialty market . As for the outcome of the trial .What the death penalty in Singapore now ?

An Act for the control of dangerous or otherwise harmful drugs and substances and for purposes connected therewith.

5.—(1) Except as authorised by this Act, it shall be an offence for a person, on his own behalf or on behalf of any other person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore —
(a) to traffic in a controlled drug;

7. Except as authorised by this Act, it shall be an offence for a person to import into or export from Singapore a controlled drug.

33.—(1) Except as provided in subsection (4A), (4B) or (4C) or under section 33A, the Second Schedule shall have effect, in accordance with subsections (2) and (3), with respect to the way in which offences under this Act are punishable on conviction.

(j) conviction under section (5) AND section (7) shall be punished with the death penalty as enhanced under the discretion of the Home Office and the Prison authorities, as well as many strokes of the cane as the court shall judge salutary.

Look it up, it is the law in Singapore. Actually the most common executions are for drug trafficking. I kid you not! But, what the hey? They are sure to cut her a break! She's a friend of the judge!

I did google chewing gum and Singapore and the results support your whole story. I am not surprised that the death penalty is given for drugs. I can not prove it but I feel . filmed flogging. could find a underground market . Your final chapters of Barb in Singapore could be a snuff film.
 
I googled Singapore death penalty for drugs.My understanding of the law is the amount found on Barbara was below the Death penalty amount of 1200 grams of opium and 30 grams of Morphine. Persons found with less that amount face canning up to 24 strokes to life in prison. The more serious crime is Rose death ,assuming she dies, the death penalty in Singapore is long drop hanging. I would prefer a "crux forum " happy ending. The Russian mafia fakes her death and she ends up on a cruise ship in the Singapore harbor being sold too the highest bidder.The Russian auctioneer says " this is Moore Barbara from a Blue state ,that did not vote for Trump.

My all time favorite is the story of O scene . I first saw that when I was 20 and nearly fifty years later, its still a turn on. When Corine Ciery moves her head and gives that looks of contempt it goes right through me . The subtle movements of her breast are enchanting.
