Rufus had some good ones that he used.
Various photos of him crucified had very small loincloths with a lot of skin showing.

Agreed, they are great and show a lot, but I doubt they would be usable in a ... "public" (passion)play and thats the point Frost was referring to. When you watch the YT videos of the Jacksonville passion play there are really a lot of people.. - surprising that nobody complained about the indecent skimpy loincloth the boy who played the thief was wearing in the commentaries :razz:

After searching my archives there are
Various production over the years in England and other places in Europe showed a lot of skin.
I agree it is rare and most want to cover up as much as possible.

yes thse two outdoor dramas you how the pictures of do show nicely thought out loincloths on the guys. very nicely done.
 
there are a few passion plays due to take place around the uk in 2020, so watch out for the best of the bunch, here's hoping they will be looking good crucified up there on the crosses. even a very modern one again to be staged.

That one is an absolute classic James.

This one leaves little to the imagination, but I think it's a theatrical performance rather than an ordinary church passion play

yes this one is simply superb PH... well done for reminding us all, he has a perfect body looking as Christ and that loincloth, well, just brilliance. thanks again.
