So, I was wondering, what are our favourite depictions of flogging either in film, pictures or writing?
I'm afraid I can't cite any specific depictions in media right now. But I also love whipping scenes very much, but probably in a way that I interprete them to match my own quirks in BDSM fantasies.
In real life, I'm more of a feminist and sometimes I almost worship such specific charms that the fairer sex of us possess - her elegant curves or graceful movements, and so on. (Not that being a feminist was mostly about appreciating such physical traits, of course.)
And I happened to be also have a very strong fetish about humiliation and degradation of women. So, combining those two, I can picture a specific kind of a whipping scene that appeals to my fetishes the most.
It's better for me, if the setting is pre-modern society where female modesty was emphasized and adhered to as a norm. So, I like it when a girl is stripped to her waist, so that her long skirt which hints her formal status as a modest girl who obediently followed such a norm could give a good contrast to her lewdly naked upper body.
She could be tied up to a post in a public space, so that her degradation could be witnessed by many who still follow such code of morality. For them, it's difficult to even imagine a girl who knows decency could display her most private body parts like that. But now they can all enjoy the scene because she no longer deserves such decency expected of a modest girl, as she's now nothing but a despicable lowly criminal, who must be punised in most humiliating manners.
I like it when her arms are drawn up high so that her shy armpits are exposed as well as her breasts for public scrutiny. For me, the appeal of such a degradation scene comes mostly from a contrast - something expected to be hidden from eyes but now so vulgarly exposed. Or something that used to be worshipped, loved, or cuddled, now fallen under cruel ridicules and physical abuse. A contrast between so delicate and vulnerable existence whom must be protected like a gem, and someone that can be stripped naked and whipped like a mule.
So, I love it when her breasts - a symbol of her feminine beauty and shyness, which used to accentuate her elegance with their graceful curves or subtle movements beneath her clothes - now so vulgarly exposed, swaying, jiggling so lewdly with every strike the whip savagely lands on their softness. Now they became a symbol of her shame and degradation, rather of her feminine charm.
I prefer to see her expressions showing such mixed elements of pain, humiliation, and shock which should be natural to a girl who never imagined a woman's most private skin could be so savagely beaten, not to mention of being so lewdly displayed for all to see. It's much better for me that way, rather than in such a case where the whipping is so intense that she cannot even think of anything else than the immediate agony it inflicts on her body. I don't like teasing sort of whippings much, but I don't like extremely cruel ones either, because it doesn't allow a room in the victim's mind to contemplate on so humiliating and degrading nature of her torment.
And after it's done, I'd rather see her left tied on the post for a while, so that everyone can witness and inspect her marks of shame on her now ravaged female symbol, giving as her new sense of humiliation and degradation.
That is the kind of whipping scenes that I like typically.
