The Agony Component.

She's been around for a while, and my initial reaction of HOT DIGGITY DOG!!! remains unchanged. :eeek: :babeando::very_hot:

That’s a great example of how hard it is to breathe with arms fully extended on a cross. Look at her ribs expand and contract. With almost no chest rise and fall: that’s breathing with the diaphragm only. Every other muscle that could assist breathing is stretched taut and can’t move. Then, her lungs can’t expand to take in enough air to avoid the instinctive panic and suffocation instinct. Finally, she can’t expel enough carbon dioxide from her lungs, causing a vicious cycle of light, rapid breathing. Her diaphragm is going to exhaust itself quickly and start cramping. And a diaphragm cramp feels like your chest is going to explode. It’s one of those feelings that causes a primal panic.

Crucifixion was nasty that way. Which makes it so...stimulating to watch.

The breathing is not something I typically spend much time thinking about, other than the fact that it makes "the dance" necessary. But you make it sound arousing in its own right.

It's certainly arousal component of Ramon’s "Christa." :babeando:

Earlier today I ran across some nicely hi-res versions of M Palmeri's crux drawings. Some are reposts, particularly #5 who is anything but agonized, but is included again because I like her. :D

View attachment 883344Do you see? This is my fantasy. Make love to her one last time, then we'll be whipped, bound body to body. I will then be crucified first. Once my cross has been erected it will come before me with its patibulum and will be nailed in front of me. That the dream is good.

Like SS Timothy and Maura?

Magnificent. Indeed this corresponds well to my crux fantasy.

All in all, "The Agony Component" may be the most important factor in whether a staged crucifixion titillates the viewer.

The model can be plain looking, the rigging amateurish, the cinematography shaky and out of focus, the audio full of background noise-- I've seen all of these (and other failings) redeemed by a good acting job (and probably good directing, esp. in the case of Makar's videos) where the one on the cross literally writhes in agony.

This model (in Alex Bald's Crucifixion 15) understands this concept! (Don't forget to turn on the audio!)
