Well it was supposed to begin with a sacrifice, but by the time of the Empire,
sacrificing virgins had been stopped (because there weren't any virgins :devil:)

I suppose there may have been a few Vestal ones, but I believe sacrificing them was frowned upon.

Looks fun, maybe, but not in the northern hemisphere in December...

Well, quite. For my festivities, imagine a few less cherubic figures, and about a foot more snow.:rolleyes::eek::D
 
Since the grand old pagan holiday of Saturnalia begins tomorrow, I thought I would bump this thread up for anyone who missed it the first time or is foolish enough to want to reread it. Regarding the comments on the events of 2016, I naively thought it couldn't get any worse...:doh::facepalm::rolleyes:
