Done a bit of measuring....
IF I were to,(somehow),construct an 'X'-style Cross,St. Andrew's-style...
Each beam would need to be at least 230 cm long...
7 and a half feet,roughly !! :eek: :eek:
Should be an "interesting" project..... ;) ;)

According to that programme about crucifying that is what they used and was just put against the wall and could be used again be interesting to be tied to one laying down naked and after a flogging

UPDATE :
Had to go back to B & Q, as one of the planks was warped/twisted along it's length.... :( obviously NO good for it's intended purpose,so,(armed with receipt) off I jolly well went....
At least i could keep a social distance. Lol
This time I swapped one faulty plank,and bought another to use for odds and ends,etc.....etc....
Here we blimmin well go again.....
Just got to strip to my work-cloth...
(in keeping with old-fashioned tradition,as a Crux Slave. ;))
So,as they (probably ?) said,in Roman times,"Nil Interruptus".....

Still,the work continues.....

Out of consideration for the poor cow downstairs... I've,(temporarily),reluctantly halted work,as using a Hammer & Chisel can be QUITE noisy !!

Such a pity,I dont have a Whip-wielding,leather- clad Dominatrix ,to keep me in line,with plenty of
* a-hem !!* "encouragement "....!! ;) ;)

*Going to have to use some kind of card ,(or Balsa Wood) "gasket" to ensure a tighter fit....
(Even though I AM eventually using 10cm Bolts, etc,to secure the two beams.....)

Well.....after an (enforced) 24 hour hiatus,i have now resumed work on the new cross... :)
A situation greatly helped,by the fact,that the downstairs' neighbour has gone to work....
(" YAY !! ")
