Quite true, and there was considerable speculation and rumour that they were not simulated. Camera work and shot angles are just such that one never quite sees everything, but they look incredibly real. Both Ang Lee and Wei Tang went on record in interviews stating that there was no non-simulated sex going on. In the end Lee and the cast defended the sex scenes as necessary for plot advancement and to show Wei's character's fall into intimacy and love which ultimately betrays her. Personally, I think Ang Lee knew also that a segment of the audience would enjoy seeing as much of Ms. Wei as possible as well. Wei meanwhile has stated that she didn't take her mother to the premier because she wasn't sure her old mum would be interested in seeing her tits in quite that much detail. She herself said it was strange to sit in the cinema and see her erect nipples on the screen.

**Rebecca Romijn & Rie Rasmussen Femme Fatale (2002)**
Two girlfriends involved in a jewel heist of a gold bejeweled bra worth millions. Nice lesbian scene, Rebecca does a semi strip dance for a thug until her boyfriend ( Antonio Banderas ) comes in and beats his ass (she can dance any stripper right off the floor). Later during a run in with another gang of jewel thieves Rebecca gets thrown off a bridge into the river fully clothed, when she hits the water and slowly sinks to the bottom she is fully nude. Finally when she pops back to the surface she is in her own bathtub. Interesting movie, I liked it. By the way anyone for underwater crucifixion?
