With modern medicine, is it possible to survive to such wounds a long time, even if being released after only a few hours on the cross ?
There are no vital organs in the wrists and feet. The blood loss is minimal. The main risk would be infection, which is easily managed with antibiotics. There are far worse injuries in Afghanistan, Iraq, car accidents, etc. that are quite survivable, so I would say that as long as the person is still breathing when they are taken down, they would almost certainly survive and most likely live a normal life.
