Writhing and twisting
Nails tearing at
Pierced wrists
Fractured feet
Agonizing pain

Parched lips
Sunburned skin
Stinging sweat
Cramped muscles
Oozing blood

Crowds milling
Jeering, pointing
Naked humiliation
Loincloth gone
Stripped at nailing

Six long hours
Endless suffering
Mocked
Tormented
Shamed

Clouds gathering
Sky darkening
Air oppressive
Dead calm
Crowd scattering

Flash of light
Peel of thunder
Gust of wind
Pelting rain
Cold and wet

Raised head
Gaping mouth
Tongue extended
Capturing
Gulping greedily
Moist and precious

Cleansing rain
Rinsed of blood
Sweat and tears
Refreshing
Exhilarating

Naked body
Arched back
Bathed in
Glistening

Welcome respite
If only
Temporary

Falling away

A groan, a smile

Disappearing
Gone forever
