I found this while looking for something else. It's from the Buck Rogers comic strip. I know, he has pants on, but it was in an American newspaper in the late 1950s. What do want?I think it was pretty bold for the time.

yep definitely pushing the envelope for the time but because it macho Buck Rogers most people would view it as just another comic strip predicament
