Tree - I have no idea why but the Dom I was RPing with in SL likes his women clothed as he tortures and kills them. He also really likes hanging.

Hmmm ... by any chance is it you love?

Anyway in this one I was a captured spy. What the Soviets would have called a "Honey Pot".

Not me... I always strip them before I hang them. I give the clothing to charity...

You're just a big softy, Tree.

I'm particularly fond of #1 and #3 in this set, but #4 gets an honourable mention (is that you Tree doing the necessary?)

And that's the fun of SL. You don't need to view other people's pictures or videos. You are there acting out the RP.

I have to try SL out some time. What has been keeping me from it is the assumption that to really enjoy the more interesting (wink wink) parts would require buying add-ons, like a body model and so on... I have a deep dislike for such "in-game" purchases and microtransactions, which I cannot explain and seem unable to conquer...

And since you shared your experience in Tree's living room, I can warn you from my own experience that it is unwise to accept a part in one of his theatre plays. Since the file seems to large to upload, I will include a link to it on the author's site:

Well there are a lot of different ways to play SL.

In this particular scene the "body" I used was a purchased body and outfit (which I was out of by that time). Grand total of about $0.25 in real money. I think joining the group whose sim I'm hanging in was like $0.02 in real money

I just posted some pics in "Electo Torture" and that body was a "classic" which you get for free upon joining. I forget whether or not I bought the clothing I started the scene in I don't remember . Since I am a sub in this sim (FED) I belong to this group for free.

So you can start playing in a lot of areas with no investment at all to see if it is for you. There a lots of sites that will provide you some of the torture items (for example the electro torture machine provided cuffs) and even basic clothes. Plus there are shopping malls where you can get stuff for free or at almost no cost.

The other thing is once you have purchased an item (say an "add-on") it's yours forever.

If you stay with a classic body you can get a huge amount of stuff either free or inexpensively. Getting a more advanced body comes at a cost and so do the accessories.

All in all I'd say it is far and away the cheapest hobby I participate it. If I wasn't a member of CruxWinds management team and helping to support the site financially I could easily do everything I wanted to for maybe $40 the first year and almost nothing after that. Now I have spent more than that but that is based on what I have wanted to do, there was no requirement.

Joining is free. Doing a lot of stuff is free, Where you want to go from there is up to you and your desires.

My suggestion is if you want to join SL, sign up, put $10 in the "bank", join Cruxwinds ($0.06) add go from there.

And just for the record I will say a large number of "add-ons" have been used on me by my torturers. I fact if I get out of a session with being subjected to an "add-on" I'm bit surprised.

ps: Again just for the record Possum is a bad influence on you if you want to live on a budget. A great fun influence but ............

I'm going to geek out here with SL a little bit. I was in SL from almost the beginning. Oct. 2003 when I found SL back in college at the age of 20. There wasn't a lot going, but just a platform to be creative to build and make things and for the first two years, there were less than 300,000 members. Then thinks started growing and I had spent a lot of money into it myself. But I was hooked and been part of the creative evolution of SL and still am today, but not as much. I do have my RL career.

But I get how some people don't like spending money on a base role-playing virtual world. But us creators are not just going to give away our creations for free. Because Linden Labs isn't going to let us upload our creations for free either. But to each their own with how they want to do in that world. But mainly over the years, I have made my SL'ing pay for itself from being a creator, selling products, and bringing my RL club DJ'ing SL and being an entertainer there also. Which it does make it easier to purchase things like "Mesh/Bento" products.

But on the upside of it all... SL does give people a platform to experiment on things they have heard of or want to try and never have done in their RL. Like... BD/SM and D/s. And yes, there are a lot of people in the SL community that get into BD/SM and have no clue about it. Also, a lot of people only roleplay it there and have nothing to do with it in their RL. I could really go depth with all of this and will probably start ranting. But not going to go there.

As for me these days there, I do very little creating anymore, I mainly do a lot of DJ'ing, produce videos and photographs, and have my core of people that I roleplay with also. I have a video channel on XVideos that very popular with a huge fan base and mainly with people that have no interest in being in Second Life. They are just fans of my porn videos.

But for anyone that is in SL. My main account name is "Kayla Whittaker" and just hit me up in SL and say Hi. Just tell me that you are from the Crux Forums so I won't just think you are some random weirdo that IM's out of the blue. In which I get all the time.

Be Blessed, Kayla
