Being part Indian I am fascinnated in my research that most captives brought back to camps for spoils of war enemy tortures where publicly tortured extremely cruelly by the squaws for the bucks and the entire tribes entertainment. Stories have been passed down and books also confer this. The squaws also wanted woman captives killed as to not having to compete. The chief often allowed that petition forfilled. Great strength and power was given to the victor in the enemies most cruel torture. The ceremonial torture insured continued victory in war.
