Not sure if they are trying to depict her as a Pict (Blue Body paint) or a Scot (the guard on the sword) since they are mutually exclusive by about 11 centuries.

But if you can get past the sword boys, this little number will keep you VERY warm on those cold wet nights in the Highlands.

I know you can only show what you find. And I appreciate your finds.

And with her I see a lot of tricks and no techniques (doesn't mean she doesn't know them but she ain't showing good technique). That's the problem with theatrical and TV fencers they have to fence so the audience thinks they are seeing a sword fight and they have to be flashy or video game worthy.

As a consequence they make big exotic flashy moves (which would get you killed in a real fight), target the weapon rather than the opponents and fight out of measure and with false time.

If you have ever been trained in the techniques that were used in historical training\fighting (say Codex 133, George Sliver or Cappafero) you just can't watch a sword fight on the screen without cringing and going, "no ..... wrong ...... arrgh ...... and you're dead."

I mean the girls are sexy and I love the poses but in a real battle I had better be the one you were interested in sleeping with (and me with you) otherwise your nights are going to be real cold. Because all the other chicks are at a minimum damaged but more likely dead.

I understand what you mean and, yes, most of what I have been posting are models with weapons.
I am sure that there are lady knights out there and if I find any they will be posted!

It interesting that in the graves where they find weapons buried with women they are most often axes, bows and spears. A weapon a woman can actually fight with at an almost even plane.

I don't think if I was a man sacking a village I'd want to kick down the door and find that Viking chick with her ax waiting for me. The next guy might get to take her but you are going to wind up getting hacked. And not in a recoverable way.

Indeed, swords were expensive and it was cheaper and more practablie to make axes and spears!

They are also easier weapons to use. The Roman Army was the main exception in having its soldiers all be proficient in the use of a sword. But then, after the Republic, were professional soldiers armed and fed by the state while many of their opponents were at best "warriors" who were responsible for acquiring their own weapons.

The sword is very romantic and because it is a weapon that requires skill we highly regard it even though most of us don't truly understand it.

And let's face it, they are kind of sexy with all sorts of innuendos.

Still, I'll take a good fighting staff over the best sword in the world any day.

Gathered up an assortment of one of my favorite models from BareMaidens, Leia, absolutely beautiful face and smooth young body IMHO. She would definitely look wonderful captured, lashed on that lovely white skin and affixed to a cross but alas that's not in her repertoire apparently. One can dream though.
