Nope using a staff. I'll take a pole arm (except a pike, way too long) over any sword in existence.

There is a story from the Spanish Court about an Englishman named Manly Peet [sic] who in an arranged duel for the court killed 3 of the finest rapier fighters available in succession with his staff.

Once you've been trained with a variety of weapons you'll understand.

Now if it HAS to be sword I'd prefer a baskethilt backsword with a rapier a close second.

Well THAT is a different thread but I do have 2 self bows, 2 cross bows and a really REALLY nice powerful horse bow too.

Perhaps this is the duel. Self bows at first, then close to fight with staff, sword, and finally dagger, until one remains, or quarter is asked for.

And certainly naked, this should be a spectacle, and I'm certain that would make the spectacle complete.

Well, knights to be had to spend a certain amount of time in prayer before becoming a knight, and then there's the scene of Lucius Vorenus in a vigil before a God before he gets a promotion.

This could be similar....
