The only way to pull off a crucifixion with nails is by faking it with special effects make-up or photoshop. If you have a huge budget, no problem with either, but if you're paying the model per hour, or working on a shoe-string, niether works very well.

With make-up, you drag out the shoot just to apply it, which ends up costing you more in model fees, and often times the make-up doesn't work so well.

With photoshop, you spend days trying to get the affects to look right, and unless you're some sort of computer-wizard, chances are they won't.

I've done two photosets with nail affects. One with make-up, one with photoshop. It was a major pain in the ass that I will not attempt again!

Make something very long with less pain but more monotony on cross, e.g. with temporarily leg release
