I think Barb's fate was really sealed when it was the Belgian Army alerted for her rescue. I don't think they work any later than 5:00 PM as it is. Pretty much the same for the rest of those European militaries these days. Union rules and all. Oh well, at least they won't be attacking each other again. The U.S., curiously refused to participate in any intervention, steadfastly denying the existence of any ties between Moore and the U.S. government. A U.S. State Department spokesperson called her execution regrettable, but said that the U.S. government was treating it as an internal Kartomga affair.

Kartomga City International has been closed now for three days, so no foreign media have been able to get into the country. Nonetheless, Ms. Moore's execution was recorded on hundreds of private cell phones, as well as by the government, and Reuters has obtained a number of photos from both sources. And now you see why guys like Rambo bypass the "official government process", and take matters into their own hands.

Late to the party, but I'm going to comment anyway. Man, what a rush! Okay the drop was too merciful, and the Captain was a bit cliche in his "now Ms. Bond Moore, I'm going to kill you, but first let me tell you my entire plan." :rolleyes:Unfortunately, it wasn't enough time to formulate the grand escape plan. :doh: To be fair, James usually has at least one girl to help him steal a key, seduce a guard, or demonstrate some new kung-fu moves, and poor Barb had nobody. :confused::(

The sense of betrayal and tragedy there was good - the man who should have been on her side using her as a pawn, even as she felt betrayed by her own government.:mad: Perhaps there's a discussion point in there about how nobody in the world, not even Americans really trusts the US government (especially not the CIA), but that's for another thread. In any case, for the story, it was a good emotional point.:(:(:(:)

As for the execution scene, the combination of the text and SkatingJesus' pictures was very well done. Could almost feel the push off the platform and the fall. Really well done! :clapping::clapping::clapping::eek::eek:
