It is a hot day in the prison yard. The guards and Manon's executioner have dumped their shirts because it is so warm. Manon should be pleased she naked on such a stifling day but I think she distracted!

It was a well performed execution. The condemned prisoner Manon accepted her sentence as bravely as she could. The prison staff treated her with more dignity than the wench deserved and abstained from mocking her until Manon was in the last of her death throes. They would leave her hanged while they get lunch then pack her body in the cheap wooden casket and have other prisoners bury her in the prison grave yard...
