I seem to recall Eulalia saying that she had tried self-crux in her teens.
She managed to release herself, but it seems that it was touch and go for a while, she nearly did not get out.
If she had been stuck all night tied to her favourite tree then, in our northern latitude (even in summer) hypothermia might have taken her.

Ha, I've only just discovered what you've been plotting for me -
no excuses, this slavegirl certainly deserves some terrible torments for neglect of duty.

Actually, I don't think that was me. I recall someone writing of such an experience,
but I thought it was one of our men.
Seriously, I've always been cautious of acting out fantasies like that alone,
my dad died acting out a fantasy that went badly wrong.
