Limericks

OK Naraku, here's a harder one
View attachment 674517
I had to look this one up:

The integral tee squared dee tee
From one to the cube root of three
Times the cosine
Of three pi over nine
Is the log of the cube root of e

OK, here's one I made up:

A lovely young miss from Brabant
Who had a transcendental slant
Faced a synthetic proposition
In a compromising position
Said "I'm sorry, sir, but I Kant"

Who knew limericks were so geeky?

The many geeks among us.horizon_event_limerick_mug.jpg

Several of whom fit this one

A note for the Brits:

Americans, in their wisdom, pronounce z as 'zee' ;)

If you stick with 'zed' you'll never get it!

And while we're about it, Scots pronounce Menzies 'Mingies',
otherwise my contribution is incomprehensible:

A strange Scottish spelling one:

There was a young lady named Menzies
Who said "Pray, aunt, tell me what this thenzies?"
Said her aunt with a gasp
"Why that is a wasp,
And you're holding it just where the stenzies!"

Not the same
"There once was a student named Trinity
who tried to count to infinity,
but all the digits
would make her figit,
so she switched her studies to divinity."

Logic:
A implies B is a fact
So Let's see how they interact!
As long as A's True
Then B must be too!
But, reversing that's not quite exact!

A bit more philosophy, Bishop Berkeley channeled by Mgr Ronald Knox et al:

There once was a man who said "God
Must think it exceedingly odd
If he finds that this tree
Continues to be
When there's no one about in the Quad."

Dear Sir,
Your astonishment's odd.
I am always about in the Quad.
And that's why the tree
Will continue to be
Since observed by
Yours faithfully,
God

If objects depend on our seeing
So that trees, unobserved, would cease tree-ing,
Then my question is: Who
Is the one who sees you
And assures your persistence in being?

Dear Sir,
You reason most oddly.
To be's to be seen for the bod'ly.
But for spirits like me,
To be is to see.
Sincerely,
The one who is godly.
