Manipulations by Hammers

Very good use of the existing background elements to create this scene - the lion is now attacking the new figure, which has been inserted with subdued colouring, sympathetic to the original painting. And the diagonal rake of the cross makes it appear to be pushed over by the lion.

The scaling has to be very precise because the new figure is inserted between two of those already present in the painting.

Rear views are not very common in crux art, and there is a risk of not seeing enough of the action.
That does not apply here - we can see plenty of action, and we also get to see the girl's face with her fearful expression.

Her right arm is a little ambiguous, and should perhaps conceal more of her head.
But the slightly awkward pose you have produced in this composite figure does contribute to the sense of fear and dread.

Nice scaling and blending - well done, Hammers! :)

Thanks for the excellent review. I admit that same is expected with great interest because, you are aware of, it is sort of a guideline for me to do better.

'Despicable apostolate' Wojciech Wilhelm Gerson.jpga) Painter's original artwork 'Despicable Apostolate ' Hammers manipulation May 5,2019.jpgb) Manipulation The original work by the Polish-Russian painter Wojciech Henryk Wilhelm Gerson (Varsav 1831-1901) represents some episodes of the forced christianisation of Slav pagan women during the crusade waged by Saxons and Danes against Slavs in the year 1147 AD.

Now THAT is an orgy! :p

Yes, correctly. It was a feast in ancient Rome yearly celebrating Bacchus the god of wine and vintage. In his honour and for
best auspices for the sowing of grains and the harvest, actual orgies took place without limits during which people set free their lowest instincts.
It seems that, before Romans, Ancient Greeks abiding Southern Italy were the first to follow this tradition.
