Matilda’s Trial
Lady Matilda lives a luxurious life as the sole heir to her family’s vast fortunes. She passed her days smoking oriental herbs and drinking fine wines.
She also entertains herself with her two lovers who are also her trusted servants.
In the country of Cruxtonia there are tithes paid to King Despard Wragg that are really taxes. Matilda cannot be bothered by such trivial matters and had neglected paying hers. This, not to mention her refusal of the king amorous advances, has annoyed King Wragg.
King Wragg visits Captain Angus and tells him to bring Matilda to his castle where she will be tried for her crime. A good soldier, Angus travels to Matilda’s estate to arrest her and bring her to trial. Matilda scoffs at Angus and says “I do not take orders from underlings of the king. I refuse to accommodate your request!”
Angus is less than amused and tells Matilda “If you refuse to come with me the king has ordered me to slay you and bring your body back where it will be mounted naked on a spit and displayed until it rots away.”
This does not please Lady Matilda. She huffs “Alright I will come but I do not travel without my servants.”
“As you wish” Angus replies.
Next thing Lady Matilda knows is that she and her twolovers servants have their wrists bound in irons and they are roped and led naked in a coffle to be tried in King Wragg’s court.
Perhaps letting Angus slay her in her home might have been a better deal….
