I'll admit I wasn't aware of those senses, and I'm glad you've taken them in good humour -"rebarbative" .... I had to look that one up ... new word to me .... means "unattractive and objectionable". I object to the first part of the definition, but am forced to acquiesce to the second.
to me 'rebarbative' means - in a figurative way - 'a bit difficult, hot to handle, likely to sting or bite back, approach with care' -
but the dictionaries do give it a wider and, on the whole, more unpleasant range of meanings,
I certainly didn't intend to suggest you were repellent or unattractive.
