I suspect the methods, and your clothing, not to mention wind chill and temperature, might have been different in the Oldens.
I am sure Tree or Wragg could do the deed in a way that might not be so much fun.
(Also the Thames used to freeze quite often, mini-Ice Age, don'tcha know.)

Northumberland water is very cold too love, if you were lucky? enough to be the first miscreant
at the morning court and first into the tank that water was bloody cold and did create a lot of
swearing, northumberland water refilled the tank every morning and it made you gasp whn you
were put in.

Hmmm ... perhaps a little writing fatigue had set in. Perhaps there will be a sequel. Seems to be some popular demand for one. On the other hand, perhaps I’ve gotten wise and have learned to stay out of trouble? No, that can’t be it.

I was honestly thinking this might be the last story I would write, at least for some time, but the kind words of the fans are certainly reason to reconsider. So, after a rest and some summer outdoor relaxation, maybe we can come up with further adventures, if not in Brazil, then somewhere, right Barb?

Don't I know it, I waded into the sea off Bamburgh beach (it was early September) when the water reached my groin my scrotum contracted so rapidly it was as though I had been kicked in the balls.
My missus was reluctant to go in so I picked her up and carried her, when the water was deep enough, I dropped down taking her with me.
But women are better insulated that men so she had no real reason to complain.
