It would have been historically inaccurate to have shaven pubes at the time of the Roman Empire. Most of the imagery I do is historical in nature, and shaving the pubic region of gals or guys is what? Twenty years old? So my characters have bushes. :SimpHomer:
You're right, although pubic hair is really out of fashion now and shaving pubic hairr gives a better view of the vulva and vagina of the crucified woman, I doubt that in the days of the Roman Empire this shaving of the pubis was often practiced.

.... and they are all the better for it. I'd even go so far as adding underarm hair too. I can't imagine many women from that era shaved any of their pubic hair.

And that is more than ok. I never understood this fashion - somehow it became "in". But for me a woman must have a bush. In my opinion it simply doesn't fit if a female person looks like a woman with her breasts, but like a tiny pre-puberty girl down there.

But that seems to be the course of time. When I was young nobody shaved pubic hair, nor did they wear bras. That was simply "out" and there were great looks on tumescent nipples under little T-shirts, especially during summer. And nowadays you almost never meet a girl not wearing a bra. A pity.

Actually, whole body depilation was commonplace in Ancient Rome, done by both sexes. But in the Rome of my unclean imagination pubic depilation was primarily a patrician thing, whereas plebeians and barbarians went for a natural look.

And it so happens that I get off on beautiful young women going overnight from high society to a low cross. :babeando::very_hot:

Update: original Jastrow render replaced by two others which better illustrate the theme.

Three by lex1987, and one by Jastrow that I don’t recall ever seeing, but if somebody finds out I have I won’t be a bit surprised.:very_hot:

Cypher had been doing his amazing manips for years, but I’ve only recently became aware of his work, and gee am I glad. The first one below dates back four years, the second from earlier today.

Neither are strictly crux, but whoa! :babeando:

I really like pick #1 except that Bec de Corbin (Raven's Beak, the hammer looking thingy) is about 500 years more modern than the other weapons in the picture. That is one problem with being a history geek, you notice little things like that.

God but I do love me a nice thick pole arm that is well wielded.

I'm not usually a crux aficionado, but #2 strikes a chord ( or raises a sign) with me.:very_hot::very_hot::very_hot:

Come on Willow. Give the guy a break! Just because he can't afford a new fancy sword or pike doesn't mean his heart isn't in the right place. He helped put her up there didn't he? That makes him a hero in my book, whatever his weaponry.

If I had the Bec de Corbin and he had that sword, he'd be a dead hero wanna be. Word to the wise, if you have a choice between a sword and a pole arm, take the pole arm every time.

Read the story of Manly Peake [sic] he killed 3 Spanish swordsmen armed with rapiers (possibly the finest all around sword design ever) in an arranged duel at the Spanish Court using only a fighting staff.

I've been following Cypher for years, he really is very good. The second one is is marvelous, a great scene and lots of lovely detail. The expression, the bird's shadow, the evidence of previous bindings on her ankles. I wonder what her story is?

Stunning work by Cypher - these are new to me (well, the second is new in any case - and outstanding!)
He really excels at photo manipulation! :D

Many thanks. The second pic was posted to my old thread in cruxfoundation the other day :) This was not so complicated one than the first in reality.
I'm not familiar with the history of weapons and I always think manip is one of the genres of symbolic expression like collage, though, I'm glad to read your discussion and to get new knowledge.

One kinda/sorta crux, the other an impalement, which isn’t my cup o' agony, but both are cypher manips, which are breathtakingly hot.

Holy shit, cypher, you’re goddam good.:very_hot:
