Barb's recently posted a very appropriate picture on Jacksjg's wonderful Frog's Revenge story thread,
by a present-day Russian artist I (and she) hadn't heard of, and I was prompted to check him out -
Stanislav Plutenko. He's quite prolific and varied in style, labelled surrealistic, I'd call it more magic realistic' -
he plays quite a lot with orientalist-style themes, but also 'making strange' modern day city life -
here are some examples that might appeal to cruxers:
