The above is William Kidd, after being hung by the neck until dead, after a trial where he was betrayed by his friends, crew, and political allies he protected. His body was kept on display like this for three years. Unfortunately, he’s not that pretty.




There are a lot of similarities to crux, with the display and humiliation, but also the severity of the crime. Your common whore or sudductress is not going to end up in one of these.
