Schmaltzissimo, but no denying it was an astonishing feat of animation

Still, in a place where we've rather too many of the adorable but virulently destructive little beasts,
I have a mischievous preference for this version:

Yes deer are certainly a menace around here. I know several people who have totaled cars hitting them. But hitting a moose is much worse and often fatal to both moose and driver.

You make me feel almost fond of the little Muntjac deer around these parts......

I had to look those up, but they seem small enough that your car might run over them without much damage. Our whitetails here run easily around 60-80 kg and moose around 300 to 500 kg or more. Also, with moose, their center of gravity is high and they come over the hood (or bonnet as you call it) and crash through the windshield (windscreen) and land on you.

I think they can make quite a dent, but you're right, they always come off second best in an argument with a car.

They play merry hell with my shrubs, though!

The moose will win against a car. I've know of cases just outside Ottawa where the driver was killed, car was written off, and the moose walked away.

And the bloody Japanese tourists try to stand their toddlers next to them.:doh: I've actually yelled at a couple of them for that.:cool:

What is worse is the 'Moose and Squirrel' combination!!!

Rather belated post but, sadly, New Year's Eve made sure there was yet one more old Pp favourite who wouldn't see 2017 with the death of William Christopher far better known as the Reverend Francis John Patrick Mulcahy the chaplain of MASH 4077.

Perhaps it was all those episode on television but Pp always warmed to Christopher's Father Mulcahy more than to René Auberjonois as the 'Dago Red' version in the movie.

A man I admired for his talent and independent-mindedness:

Art critic and author John Berger ('Ways of Seeing')

Also I thought I saw a news flash an hour or so back that Anthony Hopkins had died,
but I can't find any confirmation of that on the net, maybe I misread it.
Oh no, it was a nasty hoax!

Hmmm.

Like we haven't had enough genuine reports of celebrities deaths. :(

Some moron has to go and invent a fake one.

There was a death hoax about Hopkins last May. The current story may have come the death - or apparent death - of his character on the series "Westworld".
