Buck Henry has passed.

The only thing I can say to sum up his life and works is :risas3: .

Mr. Duboeuf was already a successful Beaujolais merchant in the 1970s when he set out to mass-market the local tradition of making primeur, a quick, joyous wine born of the year’s new grapes.

I've never heard wine described as "joyous." But then again I’m a Gallo kinda guy, so, whatever. And I reckon wine enthusiasts owe him quite a lot.

I think the vine-growers of Beaujolais owe him more - it was a brilliant gimmick,
great publicity for the region upstaged by its more prestigious neighbours,
and opened up a market for the best vignerons to produce better wines
that didn't need to be flown out in private jets and drunk instantly.

No! I typed too fast:my Gaelic is fairly limited...

Too late to edit this post......
I should let it be, it's a nice bit of linguistic serendipity.
When I first saw it, I thought you were saying Perth is no more -
with the news we're getting from Australia, that seemed very ominous
(though I think Western Aus isn't getting so badly burnt, at least so far)

Terry Jones has died. Of a form of dementia. Damn. It.

Personally I’ll remember him best for the opening of his documentary on the Crusades.

You really can stop listening after the first 30 seconds. He sets the tone right off the bat.
