And by what stage name does the fair Marie MacDonald Maclaughlin Laurie perform?

I had to look it up, which is cheating...so I won’t say, being the good honest wholesome Midwestern girl that I am. ;)

Let’s see if someone who really knows the answer posts.

Here are the answers:

Frederic Austerlitz - Fred Astaire
Doris Kappelhoff - Doris Day
Joseph Levitch - Jerry Lewis
Bernard Schwartz - Tony Curtis, who costarred with Douglas in "Spartacus"
Leonard Slye - Roy Rogers
Archibald Leach - Cary Grant
William Beedle - William Holden
Maurice Micklewhite - Michael Cain
Leroy Harold Scherer, Jr - Rock Hudson
William Henry Pratt - Boris Karloff

I could have added Betty Joan Perske, who Douglas dated when they were classmates in acting school. She became famous as Lauren Becall.

Obviously, since she married a Jew.
I didn't know any of this

At the height of Bill Haley`s fame there was a cartoon in the Daily Telegraph of a violinist and a flautist coming out of The Royal Academy of Music and as they parted, the violinist said "See you later, Haley hater"

His fate is a reminder of the true importance of Freedom of Speech.

It's not only about whether you are allowed to draw a cartoon of this or that, or use this or that word.

But if you're allowed to communicate the very basic truths you've seen with your own eyes, that could avert a threat to many.

As such it's truly a matter of life & death,

"He who holds the firewood for the masses is the one who freezes to death in wind and snow." - Xuecun Murong

"Arise, ye who refuse to be slaves!" - Ironically, the opening line of Chinese national anthem.
