OK, 'Photomanimations' is not a word you'll find in the dictionary.

I made it up.

The definition is 'Photomanipulations produced in a series that can be animated.'

It takes a long time, and I'm not sure how successful it is, but I'll try a few GIFs here and you can see what you think.

I posted this little GIF earlier:

A problem with PSP, which those in the know might be able to help with.

If you make a mask to hide unwanted parts of the background, when copying from one image to another, it doesn't copy to the same position.

I resorted to post its stuck on my screen with, as you'll see, limited success:

Wragg, for me the most distracting part of that GIF is that silly helmet. We’re culturally conditioned to see it as "Roman," but legionary helmets of the period just didn’t look like that.

This concludes the nitpicking portion of this post. And yes, I'd like Alice to get naked ASAP.

Here is one called 'Alice sweeps back her hair for the final time'

I love this! It's something I'm sure I'd do at that moment, I put it in my 'Crucifixa' poem,

'Still, when they stripped me –
what I had left of blood-soaked rags –
I smiled, shook back my hair,
self-conscious, girly...'

perhaps my 'smiled' is a bit optimistic, but that little brush of the hair
and flick of her tongue on her lip is so close to the way I act
in a self-conscious, anxious situation, it's almost uncanny,
it really gives me a little shiver when I see it!

Actually I thought it was a passing sheep, munching the grass,
oblivious to what the humans are up to! :)

My nit-pick - her left hand here needs work (ala Seinfeld "Man Hands!")
Ah yes, guilty :(

It is Brian's hand until the tunic passes by, then I borrowed it from Alice herself...

This is very exciting work indeed! :)

I don't know how you are creating these gifs but the production of stop-frame animation must be a labour intensive process. The combination of a series of film frames would represent a certain amount of work, but you have achieved the additional feat of manipulating each frame to create an embryonic 'Alice Barabbas' movie.

When I originally congratulated you on the first animation in this thread, for presenting us with the first new moving images of Alice since 2007, I had no idea how far you would develop the concept.

I am most impressed by your attention to detail - the opening mouth and the use of different face shots to provide blinking, are simply outstanding. Thank you very much for producing and sharing these with us.

Just a small earthquake in the hinterland; nothing to worry about. :D:peep:
It's a minor tech glitch in an otherwise impressive gif.
I wonder if the fluff on his helmet tickled her bum?
Certainly the first question that came to my mind.:facepalm::D
