Having some recent experience. It is curious, when emersed in a medical situation, how quickly one 'adapts' to the circumstances. There is an array of people, doctors, nurses, assistants, who pass along, examining, touching (with gloves), caring, help you wash, cleaning the wounds... It did not give me shame at all.
