The poor man opens his eyes, painfully raises his head, he sees the screaming crowd, the guards who blow a little while waiting for him to be fully conscious to put him on the cross. He looks at his poor body, yesterday worthy of a statue model, now dirty, covered with bruises and abrasions. He is lying completely naked, his tail, shrunken by pain, rests against his thigh. He has never suffered so much or felt so humiliated.


But the "rest" is short-lived and the soldiers make him scream again by taking the beam and forcing him to get up.

He realizes that he begins dancing on the cross that he has often observed as a spectator. He had never imagined that he would hang one day, crucified as a slave, naked the body tortured and humiliated.


He sees the guards move towards one of the decurions and crucify him in turn.


One by one, the rebels are crucified, some nailed to the ground and then raised like the young patrician, others are attached to the previously assembled cross and nailed in a second time


No one manages to keep his dignity and all scream while their wrists are ruthlessly nailed.


The crowd enjoys a spectacle that is rarely so complete and his attention must be shared between men that we are preparing to crucify, those who painfully carry their cross to the right place in the arena and the most resistant who are still flogged.
