I see. If you zoom in you see a pond of some sort, surrounded by houses and streets. But the pic still looks photoshopped, downright unreal.

An image that’s striking as hell, though.

A bit of research revels that this is real. It if the town of Huacachina, Peru. It is a small town built around an oasis in the Atacama Desert - one of the driest places on Earth - that has become a popular tourist destination.

Thanks, Naraku. It still looks utterly unreal. But it’s a natural formation, unlike its antithesis in Turkmenistan, the Darvaza crater, wrought by the unholy hand of Man.

Funny you should post that. I saw something about this on the Science Channel the other night. Appropriately, the show was called "Engineering Disasters". When I saw that picture of Huacachina, was that it was this gas crater or something similar. Then I looked close and saw that the "fire" was the glow of lights.

As impressive as that is, nothing tops Mother Nature....
Or the goddess Pele.

Gosh! That second picture is scary. I'm sure it's impressive, but I would not want to visit it and look down that pit of fire, for lots of reasons.
