6055570729_e0d306fb17_b.jpg"Here's the inside on the still-at-large fiend of Buchenwald: How Nazi Bormann's Cruel Lust Will Betray Him!" This was written before Bormann's body was identified in 1972. Bormann probably committed suicide on a bridge near Lehrter station. His body was buried nearby on 8 May 1945.
"The Day H'Wood Sirens Stripped in Cannes" Wonderful place, Cannes!
"Iris Bristol - 1961 Trend in Model's Nighties" Pay attention to the latest trends , girls!
"The Deadly Blonde Wench of Waikiki - Only Ed Conn could take her passion and still elude the fiendish plot she laid" Sounds like a fun read. But I must object to the second use of "fiend" on one cover!
Cover: Another bikini girl on the bottom. This time with an octopus. Hey, Gals, when you complain about a man's hands all over you, image a guy with eight!;) This time the rescuer has a spear and isn't blond. He might even be a native!

The title is typical pulp hyperbole. Bormann was Rudolph Hess' Chief of Staff and replaced him as Nazi Party Secretary after Hess flew to Britain in May 1941. He also served as Hitler's personal secretary. Although he held several other post, wheeled a great amount of power and shared in the responsibilty for the Holocaust, he had no direct connection to Buchenwald or any other specific camp.

As far as I recall, Bormann and a few others tried to flee Berlin after Hitler's death, but they got stuck in a combat between Norwegian SS troops and Soviet soldiers. So the group got scattered. Already on the Nuerenberg Trial, there have been testimonies (from Artur Axmann) who claimed to have seen Bormann's dead body, killed by a grenade explosion. It was near that spot, that his body was recovered in 1972. But despite the testimonies, the myth of a Bormann still being alive, has lived until then. He even has been senteced to death 'in absentia' at the Nuerenberg Trial in 1946.

Wow. I knew both of those facts, but I didn't ramble on for fear I would bore my readers. Nice to see others share my "wonkish" views!

"The brutal Red Spy Master who tortured his Mata Haris!" Well, that part of the training for spys all over the world, right? Spy Master - extremly sought after job.
"I chrushed the dope-crazed sex smugglers" Spoilsport!

So the search string was "science fiction pulp cover art nudes." But most of the hits were from Weird Tales, and not a single Astounding Science Fiction in the bunch.

I reckon Marvel Science Sories was close, but still . . .
