Even Gore Vidal wrote pulp

I love that image:very_hot:
I checked and it's true. Gore Vidal did indeed write that book in 1953. He also wrote crime novels under the name "Edgar Box" and something that sounds pulpy: "A Star's Progress" aka "Cry Shame!" under "Katherine Everard" (ever hard?).
All of these were between 1950 & 54. Vidal had been blacklisted for his novel "The City and the Pillar"(1948) that depicted homosexuality in a frank and natural manner.

Lora was eighteen -
and too hot to be handled:
- by the stepfather who wanted to ruin her
- by the lover who wanted to maul her
- by the man who wanted to love her

How come I never got trapped?

Sometimes its just disgusting:
It started as salad and Lobster Thermador -
But it turned into an unspeakable horror!

She was the wildest girl on the campus,
a free-swinging coed who'd do anything on a dare...
once she got in the mood.

Isn't that like a girl here on CF (except she's always in the mood!)

Ummmmmm .... not sure that's quite accurate ...

my-fair-lady-1964-07-audrey-flower-seller.jpg I was a right proper young lady in college, I was.

She believed the world was all bad - and refused to conform to its conventional ways (sound like some rebel leader?)
