I see. They do look very meditative. I suppose if you can meditate through the pain, or perhaps use the pain in the meditation, you might be on to something.

The concept of Buddhists being this peaceful enlighten group of people is a western urban legend. Ask some of the non-Buddhist locals, hell ask some of the non-Lamaist Buddhists in Tibet what they think of their treatment by the Dali Lama's brethren.
