The End of the Line

Good King Wragg is dead. Killed in battle along with his brother, Prince Windar, as the king's fiercely loyal but badly outnumbered army valiantly attempted to hold back the massive invasion force of the Huk empire. The army fought as men possessed, defending their homeland and families from the barbarians. But as the battle progressed they knew they were likely doomed. The Huk army was simply too large and murderously fierce. The center of the king's army could not hold. Collapse was inevitable. But the army had to hold on long enough to give the king's young pregnant queen, Messaline, and her court a chance to get to safety. Once safe the queen could rally the people and raise a new army to continue the fight. But first she had to get to safety. It was their only hope. The royal bloodline must survive!

As the king led a fresh assault on the enemy's front, the queen and her court were evacuated by a small group of elite knights led by Prince Windar. They nearly made it to safety, but the king's army could not hold out long enough. They were overwhelmed and destroyed. The swift Huk cavalry then caught up with the small force protecting the queen, surrounding and cutting it off from all possibility of escape. The knights and Windar all fought to the death even as the women made once last desperate dash for safety in the nearby hills, where cavalry could not easily follow. Several of the queen's ladies, possessed of true warrior spirits, died defending her. In the end, despite all their courage and will to survive, the queen and her remaining court were captured.

The women were brought before the Huk commanding general. His cock stiffened seeing that they were all young and extremely attractive. They were told to submit and survive. They refused. The general was surprised. They looked soft and pampered but apparently had spines of steel. He knew they would never serve anyone but their queen, and the queen was an indomitable woman, despite her youth. What to do with them? How best to use them to complete his conquest of this kingdom?

An exceedingly cruel man, the general decided he could quickly break any further resistance by publicly executing all the women, including the pregnant queen and the royal princess, Thessela, the sister of King Wragg. They represent the last of the royal lineage in the soon to be conquered kingdom. To show his utter ruthlessness he would have them gang raped then crucified. He picks a ridge where their crosses would be seen by as many of the kingdom's subjects as possible.

ArmeniafakeReworkFS.jpg Messaline, the young queen, who carries in her womb the last royal heir, has just been crucified. All other surviving female members of the royal household--sisters, cousins, and one sister-in-law, making up the queen's court--have already been crucified, save for the royal princess, Thessela, who is being escorted to her place of execution. Thessela sees the naked body of the beautiful young queen writhing in agony on her tall cross as the executioner finishes nailing her feet. Her pregnant belly is thrust forward and her heavy maternal breasts bounce wildly on her heaving chest. She grunts and groans in agony, but has not screamed, has not begged for any mercy. She will die a proud queen, not giving the enemy any satisfaction in the shameful manner of her death. Thessela is honored to be crucified next to the queen. To the queen's left hangs her senior lady-in-waiting, the Lady Marcella. Despite her own agonies, Marcella tries to comfort the inconsolable queen, who has lost a husband and will never see her child--whom she is certain is a son-- take the throne of his father. At least the queen will die among those who love her.

Princess Thessela watches the queen's royal blood drip to the ground from her horrendous wounds. The queen will die here! But her royal blood will consecrate this place; it will always be holy ground. Soon Thessela will add her blood to the ground, as have all the women crucified here today. Thessela prays she will endure the agony and humiliation of her crucifixion as well as the queen and the other women. She would want her brother, the now dead King Wragg, to have been proud of her courage in the face of such a cruel enemy.

ArmOppViewFS.jpg Her time has come. Thessela looks one last time at the face of her loving sister-in-law, the queen, as she hangs on her cross. Her eyes fill with tears. She's outraged at such a cruel death for a queen! She struggles one last time, swinging around the heavy crossbeam she's bearing across her shoulders, trying her best to kill another of the enemy. She clobbers one man in the head and he drops tp the ground. The other executioners quickly grab her and throw her to the ground, stretching her naked, defenseless body out along the wood of her cross. She struggles to the end even as she feels the nails pressed into her wrists. She stifles a scream as the hammer falls.

The women hang all day on their crosses, naked and shamefully exposed, suffering unendurable agonies. Yet not one of them has screamed; not one has begged for mercy. The pregnant queen is dying. When she and Thessela die the royal bloodline will die out with them. Who will the people then rally around? Who will inspire them to fight in the name of Good King Wragg.

Late in the day a young woman from the countryside stands near the crosses of the crucified. She's not sure why she's here. These are not her people. She never lived with them. They never knew of her existence. Yet, she knows they are kin. She is Barbara, the bastard daughter of the old king, Phlebas, King Wragg's father. King Phlebas was a good king but had many mistresses. Barbara is the daughter of one of them. This makes her the half-sister of the dying Princess Thessela, the dead King Wragg, and his brother, Prince Windar. She's also more distantly related to some of the other crucified women.

She's a bastard, but royal blood flows in her veins. As a child, for her protection, she was placed into the house of a lesser noble family with a proud warrior tradition. Now, grown into maturity, she is a beautiful, talented, deadly swordswoman. Her adoptive family has proof of her lineage.

Barbara vows: "This place is sacred ground, soaked with the blood of my family! I will avenge my family's murder! I may be a bastard daughter, but I will be queen of this kingdom! My father's lineage is not dead!"

Can someone edit the story so it is all one text color? light grey on a white background is hard to read.

Good story @Marcella

I have done, which I consider to have been extremely generous of me given the fact that @Marcella killed me off in the first sentence

It would have been considerate to leave me alive until after I'd watched those marvellous crucifixions!

Yes, I killed you off rather early. Sorry, someone had to die first. :p But you had a wonderful, if short, reign as king.:D You were quite popular.

I'll be more considerate the next time. (Do you have someone else in mind who should die early?)

Kisses!

Compared to several other members on this site, King Wragg had a short and mercifull death, anyway! It could be, one should then take an early death for granted!;)

An unprecedented experience for you, Wragg, to die in a CF story?
I think he's been killed off before, but never in the first sentence. :D

@Marcella learn from the mistake ,keep Wragg alive at least till the second sentence :D
