tIn addition, ancient sources mentioned the cutting off breasts or nipples as a part of tortures or sometimes preparations to the final execution. The removing or injuring of labia with a knife was perhaps less popular but still used sometimes, I believe. It perfectly corresponds with the symbolic destruction of the femininity. However the victim's body became much less attractive for the spectators and moreover the death is hastened by the big blood loss, so it is not the perfect method.

The blood loss after nipples being cut or torn off is not lethal. And bleeding could be stopped with the hot iron, pressed to the wounds. By the way, perhaps it will be one of the most painful moment of the whole crucifixion if used.

It's strange how different impression have on me the same scenes as seen by the spectators and by the victim herself. I prefer the second set far more than the first. And what about you?

Nice drawings. The aspect of the seat plug/cornu for prolongation of the ordeal excellently shown.
The crucified can change into all kinds of positions with the seat plug,

Few single women (mostly naked) surrounded by men (mostly covered): as for me the worst imaginable death for an innocent woman... A real nightmare! This kind of situation is very exciting and, yes, terrifying for me when I think of such punishment, that's why I like to return to this theme again and again (maybe you are tired of it). This time the sketches are extremely "speedpainted", five minutes each, so sorry for the not excellent quality...

I always love the pics of a woman (esp a queen) crucified naked between two loin cloted low class men ( eg. thieves or slaves .)
And here I also want to say ... your Ecce home and Judas's kiss set are so nice for me

If we could made assumption that the double patibulum was a Roman invention, not Japanese (which is very probable, because the cross with double equally long horizontal beams was known in the European heraldry far before the discovery of Japan by the Europeans), a crucified queen could suffer her torment with her feet far away from one another...

I understand, however as I wrote few times here, I am rather not interested in any crucifixions save the official, public death penalty in classical Roman style (with possible variations) and I am mostly impressed by the cruelty of armed, trained men torturing the innocent defenseless woman. Of course, there could be plenty uncommon situations when the women are involved in the execution of other women, gladiatrices in the circus, actresses in theatrical shows connected with real executions (beloved by Nero, Tiberius and few other Caesars), participants of many private wars between families out of the Roman Law range but near to the Empire borders enough to use Roman tools and methods, etc. etc. However the situations when one woman killed other woman or the tortured victim fully deserved her punishment are simply not exciting for me. The most exciting is the contrast between the official law and the obviously unjust sentence and between the softness of the woman's flesh and strength of trained and armored legionnaires. That's why I so frequently return to the crown of thorns and the "queen" -innocent and harmless as Christ himself- hanged between the thieves.

A LoRes and rather not especially pleasant sketch (simply found in some online handbook of Egyptian clothing and reworked - but maybe the idea is To Be Continued) showing an Egyptian woman in peril. It is highly possible that this exactly would be the final fate of the famous queen Cleopatra, hadn't she committed suicide after the Octavian's victory. Cleo herself was reported to be still very sexy and charming however she was in no way young, so this is not especially good depiction of the poor queen, but it could be one of maids from her household. Two of them are mentioned in chronicles, committing suicide together with their master. In the alternative story they should be probably executed too because they were perhaps her personal secret bodyguards fluent with poisoning and familiar with many of her secrets and this is not the kind of people you should set free after the killing of their master - for the sake of your own security.
