For somebody like me whose crux imagination is stuck somewhen a century or so on either side of the year 1, the contemporary barn setting of this Falco photo should be off putting.

It’s not. :very_hot::clapping:

Posted by Phlebas yesterday, who indicated it’s an old pic, but it’s new to me, and the best doggone Arkady manip I’ve ever seen.

My attention is of course riveted by the lady on the right. :very_hot:
And translated by eul -
The young woman awaits her turn to be crucified,
while contemplating the agony of her sister Ligura and her husband, the rebel leader,
now hanging on their crosses as punishment for their rebellion against Rome.

Eulalia, embarrassing question. Is the original Spanish or Portuguese? I’m no polyglot but I thought I could tell the difference. :oops:

More DoFantasy promos, clearly marked as such but higher res than usual, and that’s OK by me. :D:very_hot:

Tied to her cross, artist unknown, illustrating an aspect of crucifixion for which I recall reading no account, seen no evidence, but still wonder if ever happened.

Did executioners ever gag their victims?

The first pic below is not a proper crux, but the ancient Roman setting suits this thread nicely.

Then three renders by Hersday, who has appeared on CF and Foundation under several handles. His style isn’t as gritty as I’d like, but I can’t complain about his female bodies and the way they dance on a cross. :very_hot:

Just encountered another by bmovievillain. Not strong on realism but very esthetically pleasing. And she's wearing one of those almost certainly ahistorical gags. :rolleyes:

A classic Damian, posted numerous times in numerous places over the years, but why the heck not post it again? I’ve added a zoom in on the star attractions. :very_hot:

Since she is tied and not nailed, it seems to be more of a punishment than an execution. Maybe she is being punished for blasphemy or for spreading rumors about honorable townspeople? (hence the gag)
