It was fun to take it and I hope you like.
The slave was sentenced to be crucified.
Chained, he is waiting for the executioner.
According to tradition, first the slave is whipped.
Later, he is taken to the woods, where the slave must load the patibulum to the cross.

The executioner used two trees to tie the slave to patibulum.
First he tied the slave with the chains that the slave had placed on his wrists and then with two ropes.
So began the long road to the cross.

I like this chain idea. I can imagine two executioners walking in front & behind the condemned carrying the patibulum with a long length of chain between the victim's legs. Every so often they would viciously yank the chain taught to hurry things up.
Good to discover another snippet of cruelty!

The tree had a stand to place the patibulum.
Thus the patibulum was at a height of 2.45 meters.

There was also a small platform on which the slave should be placed.
The distance between the platform and the patibulum was 1.90 meters.
It was very important that the distance between the 'patibulum' and the lower platform was tight. The slave should be fully stretched and supported only on their toes.

In this moment the executioner, by means of a blow behind the knees, was forcing him to double them. This way, the whole weight of the slave was staying on his arms and the executioner could raise the feet and stick them without any effort.

As soon as the slave was crucified, the executioner could remove the platform.

I think that the subject of erection during the crucifixion is a myth. At a photo shoot, using a sexual arousal by a third person, it could be (of course, if the victim is a porn star will be more easy).
