1) How strong is the adhesive?
2) Who applied it?
3) Where is it applied? (How much hair is under it)
4) How malevolent are you feeling?
If the answers are: Very, Me, Enough, Very...then remove it very slowly. very, very slowly with several reapplications...
The question is, did he know enough to screw that ceiling ring into a stud, or just into the drywall? Hoping for the latter, and a quick escape (hey, one can learn a lot from watching those Home Depot how to DIY videos

Just lift your feet and hang to it. When half the ceiling drops upon your head, it was in the drywall!
