Well and that was the compromise. Tumblr was going to allow you to post what you want but not share them. So what's the point?

I do eDiscovery for a living. The legal problem Tumblr is going to face is that just because your blog is private it doesn't mean that you can post illegal porn (child or say rape pictures accessible in the UK). Sooner or later they will do what Facebook has done, just have a blank ban on porn private or not.

And folks, take my word for it, it is really easy to find objectionable material on a computer, plenty of tools to do it and I don't even have access to highly sophisticated tools. The issue isn't finding the material it is the amount of time a crawler takes to go through the files. Run a full security scan of your systems. Don't be surprised if it takes more than 24 hours. And that is just your system.

Well nothing lasts forever but the point is that in a few months I gained 79 followers on Tumblr. It would take
a million years to do that here. Many folk on Tumblr are now migrating to bdsmlr.com. Our new blog is at https://fantasyunlimited.bdsmlr.com/
I can still access the old blog, copy the URLs of the pics and link them here to display full size using their space on their hard drive.
Not sure what your final point is about. Hard drives are best used for operating systems etc and external attached drives for documents and stuff.

All too true. But if you do a full system scan (and you should because there are viruses that can hide in your root directory and among system files) you will find out there are actually 10s of thousands (sometimes many many more depending on how many programs you have on the system) of files on your system.

It will take the crawler (that is the program that examines your files) a long time to go through all of those.

History is a matter of convenience when used as a lever to change moral standards or promote a political agenda. The US and British merchant marines and military navies used press gangs through the end of the first world war. Indentured servitude is a euphemism for slavery and no one noticed. The draft wasn't much different when you were raping coeds, or were they raping you. It might be said that illegal immigrants living in substandard housing and subsisting on below market wages, doing the jobs Americans don't want to do is slavery by another name. Low prices for strawberries, lettuce, grapefruit, lawn boys, housekeepers, and nannies requires a blind eye.

You make some good points. However, please supply some authority for the claim that the US impressed seamen. They did during the War for Independence on a very limited basis. I am not aware of any impressment thereafter (except British impressment of Americans) and certainly not to WWI.

You know I love you dear but the US Navy didn't use impressment. In fact one of the reasons they had so much trouble getting the 6 original frigates to sea is because the US Merchant Marine was paying such good wages very few sailors would sign on. In the US Navy, crews were only signed up for a 1 year cruise and then released while the ship went into dock for overhaul.

Now everybody has to remember there are 2 parts to history. Facts and interpretation. Facts rarely change significantly (for example a battlefield may be moved based on new archaeological evidence) and even when they change they are generally agreed upon by a majority of subject matter experts.

Interpretation is a constantly changing item mostly based on the current moralistic view of the world and that is where D'Not is right on the money. Interpretation is constantly being changed to suit those in power or those who are trying to get into power. In many cases interpretation isn't even remotely related to the facts.

Both the Nazis and the Communists are a master at using historical interpretation as propaganda to control their societies, but democracies aren't immune to doing it either.

Please, before you state such comparisons - instruct yourself what real slavery is like. As bad as the living situation of such laborers is- such a comparison is a insult to all who had to live as real slaves.

Don´t limit it to those two groups. Every society without really free media uses this instrument and tries to make if perfect. (And please, don´t tell me that are fake news :)).
 
Hi people

As you know, all NSFW in tumblr has been banned, and everyone started a massive migration to other pages, like twitter, or newgrounds.

I found an alternative place for adult content, the name is cumblr.

Cumblr is a page that is accepting all adult content, they were publishing this page in tumbrl days before the blogs genocide (december 17th), it opened today, I created and account there a few minutes ago, it has the same structure that tumblr, I think the desing is pretty cool.

Here's the link, they're planning to make an android app too.
