Sharon spends her last few hours before she is hanged both worrying and aroused about being hanged naked before the people of Dry Hole and the guests that have come to see her hanged. Though in 1915 being nude before a crowd of strangers was not ‘accepted’ practice for aw woman with any hint of honor, Sharon has spent many occasions with men she did not know or had only recently met in what would be considered scandalous acts of sexual gratification.
Around ten o’clock the sheriff comes into the jail and softly says “It is time to get you ready.”
Sharon has no idea what he means having never been ‘gotten ready’ to be hanged before. In a coy voice that hides the fear knotting her stomach, Sharon says “I think a condemned woman should have her last request granted.”
The sheriff somewhat skeptically asks “And what would that be?”
“A woman shouldn’t be hanged being in need” Sharon says. “Come here and satisfy my lust!”
For almost all of the next hour he did just that!
After an hour of fulfilling Sharon’s last request, the sheriff puts his clothes back on and says “I have to have you in the square by noon.”
He ties her hands behind her back. Sharon asks “Will it hurt when they hang me?”
He replies “No one has ever complained.”
He leads Sharon towards the jail’s door, not mentioning that anyone they have hanged were quite dead after they were strung up. He looks at Sharon’s ass and thinks what a waste it will be to put her to death.
Sharon complies as he leads her out of the cell.
He is surprised by her bravery considering what she is facing. As Sharon steps out of the jail’s door she shivers and says “It is a bit nippy out here.”
The sheriff leads her to a waiting horse and calmly says “You’ll be warmer when you are in the sun.”
He lifts her onto the horse’s back and leads them to the town’s square.
The sun caresses Sharon’s bare flesh.
She doesn’t notice the warmth of the sun as she sees the crowd waiting for her arrival in the square.
