Top speed for a human: 27.89 mph (44.87 km/h)
Top speed for an African elephant: 25 mph (40.24 km/h)
Also, humans can turn quicker and have greater stamina.
However, she should be worried about the cheetah watching from the dunes.:D

No they don't have more stamina at speed. The BEST athletic humans can maintain about 15 mph over distance (the fabled '4 minute mile'). A human can hold their top speed for about 100 meters (ever watch an NFL back run?) or so and then it is off a cliff. If the elephant doesn't lose interest in about 50 yards or so she is squished.

Generally however the elephant is going to lose interest pretty quickly. Their objective to to chase off, not chase down and kill.

She better hope she isn't covered with peanut butter.

And unless the cheetah is fairly close he isn't even going to try. Their incredible top speed is over a very short distance. No real stamina at all. Like most big cats it's a burst, not a chase down.

Number 2 is the cover of a real book: "Killer Sharks: The Real Story" by Brad Matthews.
shark3.jpg
The book claims to be a first hand account of the ordeal of the men of the USS Indianapolis.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Indianapolis_(CA-35)
However, "Brad Matthews was really novelist Nelson DeMille who was about 2 when the Indy sank.

The cover art should have been a give away the book wasn't entirely factual.

"Summer's here and the time is right
For swimming with big teeth."

Video shot this week on Panama City Beach.
As someone on a local news broadcast said: This probably happens all the time. But, there usually isn't someone on the 28th floor of a hotel catching it on their phone.
But, if you prefer fiction:
