Makar Memorial.

Obviously, it is as a master crux photographer that Makar is best remembered on Cruxforums, where he was a founder member. Together with his friend ImageMaker, he established Cruxdreams, which IM continues to direct to this day. From his early experimental work in a makeshift studio, Makar put his models through demanding performances, often taking them outdoors to experience their ordeal, fully exposed in the natural environment.

Like many artists, some of his best results came from the application of talent and skill, and others were serendipitous accidents, but he seemed to know what he was looking for in a photo session, and appreciated the models who could provide it. His pictures can be found all over our site, together with the countless photo manipulations which they have inspired. Of the Cruxdreams models, following a single session in 2007, Alice has probably appeared in more manips than any other crux star.

Makar valued his candid, 'behind the scenes' pictures, and when asked on Crux Foundation what Alice looked like with clothes on, proudly produced his solitary example of precisely the subject requested (above.)

This recent manipulation (below) depicts Alice on location during the filming of the virtual movie 'Barbarossanova'. Whilst most of her modelling was done for the major studios, it is not as Rylsky's Alice or Rigin's Olga that she is popularly known among crux fans, but as Makar's Alice.

Makar's pictures celebrate the erotic nude in the crux genre, and we have much to thank him for within that genre.
Thank you for joining me in this little celebration for the man who loved to photograph women. :)

It's his eyes that speak to me, sad, thoughtful eyes:

sad_by_makar013.jpg

The Eyes that Dream

The eyes that dream
Of joy set free
Of beauty seen
That men can’t see
A lucid mind
New scenes embraced
Where most are blind
His eyes saw grace!

No story told
That’s quite like this
This world can’t hold
A mind like his
His spirit soars
Beyond this earth
Freed from the claws
Of mortal birth.

Very beautiful, Wragg.
He gave the picture the title, 'Sad', but it is a very engaging self-portrait.

One of those pictures that draw you in, and make you wonder what splendours we have missed. :(

It seems that in real life this model Alice / Anna T chose to continue her career in the adult business by performing in rough sex / bdsm videos: http://defiled18.com/videos/3049/defiled18-anna-t/

Maybe Makar was able to make her discover her real nature...

I was really sorry and sad when he died because his works are still the most suggestive crux photo and video shoots ever made;
I like to define him a pioneer and a artist; I am still missing him.

Indeed, Master Centurion, we lost a great talent in Makar. :(

An interesting theory...

Alice - Anna T.jpg

P.S. Alice is the one without any darkening of the aureolae, or moles on her breasts, or flared nostrils. ;)

The remainder of the discussion about Alice's identity has been moved to a more appropriate thread.

Makar took this picture on New Year's Day 2011, as his title indicates.
I believe he was celebrating New Year's Day in Crete.
Sadly, he would not see another one.

Cruxforums is an enduring part of his legacy and we shall continue to delight in his work
as well as enjoying new contributions from members in the year ahead.

:) Thanks to Makar and ImageMaker - Here's to 2019 :)

A tribute celebrating the anniversary of Makar's birthday today, 17 February -

Indeed not. I suspect that some of our visitors and members arrive at CF, not realizing that what brought them here was a Makar photo, or a manip using one of his models. In that sense, his inspiration lives on, as well as for all of us who do manips and keep putting his girls through it. My own tribute pays homage to that spirit, with Makar (who Bob tells me was a decent guitarist) looking out at the ghosts of his subjects as they now inhabit a fantasy world.

A serenade for crux - now that really is inspired!
Great concept, colour and composition - nice work, Jolly.

When I first saw a Makar photo I immediately new that this was what I was looking for. My first attempt at a photo manip was to graft Anna Kornikova's head onto an early Makar body, this in the days before I had an editor that could handle layers, I think it was PSP 3. From little things big things grow. Thanks to Makar for his inspiration and his wealth of beautiful and authentic crux pictures.

Very kind comments for my picture, Bob. I think it is worth noting that your image is multiple layers taken from Makar's original photographs, to build a type of meta-Makar manip. In this way, your image brings out (or so I imagine) the best of what you found there, creating a sort of idealized Alice. You are, after all the professor of Alice-ology here, but we are reminded that it was Makar's inspiration that started your (and our) exploration of Alice's experience, and in that way, your image represents that artistic analysis. We still see Alice, as Makar photographed her, but we see in more detail, and with more ideas behind the image.

Thanks Jolly - of course, we will always be indebted to Makar for the inspiration he continues to provide. :)

Two stunning manipulations to celebrate this pioneer of Crux...

To see Alice in such focus as Bob has depicted her, when the Crux Forest images usually available are low resolution video captures, is both amazing and intense.

And I think Jollyrei's image is pure inspiration. I wonder what tune he is playing as he contemplates such beauty?

Agree with you Gentlemen! Makar's genius works are favorite and inspiration for almost to everyone on CF. This masterpiece is one of the first Crux images for me 06.jpg Great Damian's manip of Great Makar's photo (of Vika, as I know) This pic was and is something wonderful for me, as other works of Makar and Damian. Truly the pioneer of Crux Art.
Rest In Piece great artist!!

I knew Makar as much as somebody I only knew from emails. But I've felt his loss keenly.

I've been thinking of cranking up this thread for some time now. It's going to feature his early models, his early photos. All of which have been posted earlier. But on this site most of them were wiped several years back, and newbies may have never seen them.

If this is ill advised, I welcome comments along those lines.

I open this with the first Makar image I encountered almost ten years ago. Others will follow.
