It was the previous war that had the need to social distance, Spanish Flu.

ok, I've got a few pics like these, not enough for a thread I suspect, so I'll put them in here. Upside down suspension, the first one's a gif

Fighting my way through the squirrels and stewardesses . . . . . have some more upside down (or upside bound)

This thread is getting really confusing? Did angry squirrels hang these stewardesses upside down, because these stewardesses had made @malins recepy for halloween mousse, but they had used brown chocolate instead of white, and they had told the squirrels it was mousse of squirrels?

The flimsy ankle rope of #7 does look far from safe!

That brooch is clearly a deliberate choice, along with the other features. a great photo.

And a very slim looking Winston Churchill, too!

Paul Newman, I remember him in The Great Escape, it's sobering to remember that so many of those actors in the post war war films actually served in the war.

Another oddity, the most prominent German characters in Hogan's Heroes were all played by Jewish Americans. The actors who played Colonel Klink, Sergeant Schultz, and General Burkhalter were German or Austrian by birth, and along with the actor who played Major Hochstetter all four served in the US military in WWII

Hitler must have been spinning in his grave.

I don`t think Paul Newman was in The Great Escape,I think you mean Steve McQueen.

You're right of course. Childhood memory mixing those two up.

McQueen was just a little too young for WWII, but he did join the marines in 1947, so he must have picked up quite a bit of the wartime culture if not direct experience.
